The Studio community exists so members can share work, get real feedback, and keep making things after the course ends. These guidelines keep the room worth being in. They apply everywhere in the community space, for every member — including once your course access window has ended.
Conduct
Be someone worth being in a room with. Specifically:
- treat every member with respect, regardless of experience level, background, or where they're from;
- no harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or sexual content;
- no bullying, pile-ons, or targeting another member;
- disagree with ideas, not people.
Constructive critique
Members share unfinished, vulnerable work — that's the point. Feedback should make the work better, not make the person feel small.
- be specific: point to the frame, the cut, or the line that isn't working, and say why;
- be kind and be honest — these aren't in tension;
- lead with what's working before what isn't;
- if you don't have something constructive to add, a supportive reaction is enough — you don't have to critique every post.
Confidentiality
What's shared in the community stays in the community. Don't screenshot, repost, or share another member's unreleased work, private messages, or personal information outside the group without their permission. This includes work-in-progress films, private feedback, and anything a member shares in confidence.
Promotion rules
The community is not a marketplace. Unsolicited self-promotion, selling services, recruiting for other courses or programs, and spam are not allowed. Sharing your own finished work, milestones, and (when a thread is explicitly opened for it) your services or availability is welcome — read the room and use the channels set up for that purpose.
Reporting
If you see a guideline violation, or something makes you uncomfortable, report it to Studio staff — not to Han personally. Message a Studio staff member directly in the community, or email Loading Studio staff contact…. Reports are handled confidentially, and we won't share who reported what.
Moderation and removal
Studio staff monitor and moderate the community — this is not Han's day-to-day responsibility. For most issues, a first violation gets a private warning and a chance to correct course.
Some behavior results in immediate removal, without warning:
- harassment, hate speech, or discrimination;
- sharing illegal content;
- sharing another member's confidential work or information without permission;
- repeated violations after a warning;
- account sharing or impersonation.
Removal from the community does not retroactively affect course access you've already used, but course access itself follows the terms in our Terms of Use.
